„I have not become one who bears malice to any Muslims, nor one who wishes evil or misfortune for him. Indeed what you dislike about unity is better for you than what you like about division. I see what is better for you, better than you see for yourselves. Therefore do not oppose my commands and do not reject my judgement. May God forgive both me and you, and may He guide me and you to that in which there is love and satisfaction.“

„Am I not the proof (Hujjat) of the Almighty, being his remembrance upon his creatures? Did not the Holy Prophet of Islam (saww) say, “Hasan and Husayn are two Leaders (Imāms), whether they are sitting or standing”? 1. How to Treat People

11. Your Creation is Not Vain

O’ servants of Allah, beware that Allah had not created you in vain, nor left you on your own. Instead, He had determined the years of your lives and has distributed your sustenance among you. This way, any wise person will realize his/her worth and that he/she won’t get more than what has been determined for him/her.

12.This Life and the Life that Is to Come

Strive for this life as if you will live forever, and make every effort for the life that is to come as if you will die the next day.

13. A Reflection on this World by Imam Hasan (AS)

This world is the dwelling of pain and hardship, and whatever rests here is doomed to mortality. Allah had informed us of this world’s workings to learn our lessons from it. He has warned us beforehand so that no excuse will remain at the end for us. Therefore, be pious in dealing with what is temporal (i.e., this world) and seek what is eternal (the afterlife).

14. The Quran

Verily, the lights of guidance in this Quran leads toward prosperity. This Quran heals hearts and souls.

15. The Right and Wrong

There is a thin line between what is right and wrong; what you see with your own eyes is the right thing, and what you hear or is told about might be wrong.

16. Be Grateful

Being grateful for the blessings and being patient in hardships, are the virtues to which you can’t find any negative side.

17. Your Religion 

Verily, people are slaves to this world and its wealth and make their religion a means of reaching their (worldly) purposes and do whatever it takes to build an ideal life. Therefore, when faced with a trial, few will adhere to their religions.

18. Know Allah

Whoever knows Allah, will fall in love with Him.

19. The Blessings 

The blessings are unappreciated as long as they are at hand, yet their worth will be appreciated as soon as they are lost.

20. Meanness 

Meanness is considering what you own as the reason for your honor, and what you give away as waste.

Poverty is the greed that is not satisfied with anything.

22. Ponder as Imam Hasan (AS) Says

I advise you to piety and constant pondering since thinking is the root of all virtues.

23. The Ability to Supplicate

When Allah blesses someone with the ability to supplicate to Him, He surely gives his/her prayers the chance of being granted.

24. An Unnecessary Burden 

Expressing your opinion on the subject, which is not related to you, puts an unnecessary burden on your shoulders.

Being afraid of honesty and expressing the truth is a sign of abasement.

There are three things that bring destruction to people; pride, greed, and envy.

27. The Best Chance to Forgive

The best chance for a benevolent person to forgive a guilty one is when there is no way out for the latter.

28. The Spirit of Generosity

Whoever counts the number of his/her charities, ruins his/her spirit of generosity.

The most insightful eyes are the ones that are fixed only on the goodness and virtues, and the most receptive ears are the ones who listen to advice and make use of them.

At times, silence is a better companion, even if you are a perfect speaker.

The calamities are the keys to blessings and rewards.

32. Worshiping Allah

Whoever seeks to worship [Allah] sincerely, should purify him/herself for this purpose.

33. A Precious Wealth 

No wealth is more precious than wisdom.

34. Wisdom

Treating people good-manneredly is a crucial part of wisdom.

35. Teach 

Teach your knowledge to others and learn what others know; this way, you will both improve your own knowledge and learn what you didn’t know about.

36. Food for Thought

I wonder how you would think about the food for your body and don’t contemplate on the food for your thought? You restrain from eating what is harmful to your body, but fill your mind and soul with what ruins them.

37. Anger

Your [real] thoughts will be revealed in your anger.

38. Allah’s Satisfaction

I guarantee that Allah will grant the prayers of the one whose only purpose is Allah’s satisfaction.

39. Trust Allah

Whoever trusts Allah’s best intention,  will only desire what Allah chooses for him/her.

40. Alms-Tax

Giving alms-tax (Zakat) does not reduce your wealth.

  • Be prepared for your traveling (for Akhira), and keep ready your necessity before your death comes.
  • O’ Son of Adam! Since the day you left your mother’s womb you life has been on the decrease. Therefore, avail yourself of that between your hands for the hereafter, because the believer takes provisions (from this world) and the disbeliever only takes his leisure (from this world).
  • If you fail to obtain something of worldly benefit, take it as if the thought of it had never crossed your mind at all.
  • Never did a nation resort to mutual counsel except that they were guided by it towards maturity.
  • It is love which brings closer those who are remote by ancestry, and it is (the absence of) love which causes dissociation between those who are related by ancestry.
  • Opportunity is something which is quick to vanish and late to return.
  • I wonder about the person who contemplates about his nutrition but he does not consider (the food of) his intellect. Thus, he avoids of what hurts him in his stomach but he lets his mind to be filled with what destroys him.
  • Associate with and treat the people in way as you like to get associated and treated by them.
  • The one who continues his visits (going and coming) to the mosque does lay his hands upon one of eight benefits:
    • (Getting to know) one of the decisive verses.
    • Finding a beneficial brother.
    • Fresh knowledge.
    • A mercy waiting for him.
    • A word leading to the guidance.
    • An admonition averting from sin.
    • Not committing sin out of scheme.
    • Not committing sin for the fear of Allah.
  • When the desirable and commendable services damage and harm the obligatory services, abandon them.
  • And know it that indeed whoever fears Allah (adopts piety). Allah paves his way of salvation out of the inequities. And makes him firm in his matter. And provides him (the path of) guidance. And makes his proof and arguments successful and enlightens his face and grants him what he desires. He is with those upon whom Allah has bestowed His beneficences and boons from among the Prophets, the truthful, the martyrs and pious ones.
  • The greatest forgiveness and pardon of Allah comes when the sinner is not able to make a pretext for his wrong doing.
  • Allah provides everything to one who worships Allah.
  • Piety is the gateway to all repentance, and the principal of all wisdom, and the distinction of all deeds.
  • Whoever relies on the excellence of Allah’s choices, doesn’t wish to be in other than the situation that Allah has chosen for him.
  • The height of intelligence is associating with people amicably.
  • One who lacks intelligence has no decorum, and one who lacks determination has no magnanimity, and one who has no modesty has no religion.
  • Do not be hasty in punishing (someone’s) sin, and leave (room) between the two (fault and punishment) for apology.
  • The most preferable adornment is graceful manners.
  • The best wealth is contentment and the worst poverty is humility.
  • Clemency is suppression of anger and self-restraint.
  • Generosity is giving in prosperity and adversity.
  • The annihilation of people lies in three things: Arrogance, Greed and envy. Arrogance causes destruction of the religion and because of it Satan was cursed, and Greed is the enemy of one’s soul, and because of it Adam was expelled from Paradise, and envy is the guide to wickedness, and because of it Qabil killed Habil.
  • Teach others your knowledge and learn knowledge of others so you will bring your knowledge to perfection and learn something which you do not know.
  • One is ignorant of blessing as long as they are present, but when they pass, one becomes aware (of the value) of them.
