October 18, 2026

I have observed that we don’t like the same opposite gender for sexual activities. We prefer only those who can stimulate our imagination. What is still not known to me is that why we prefer one on other? Why we are drawn towards some while we feel nothing for the remaining? Why we are sometimes starting relationship with some and not with others? Questions like these and much more makes me wonder how difficult it is to tap the reality of sexual attraction and why we fall into the traps of few and not in the others.

What is the impact of color, personality, education, socio-economical status, race, religion, culture, and politics in the choice of a mating partner? Why we fall for the healthy and avoid the unhealthy ones? What is behind the evolutionary theories that try to explain something with assumptions?

International Days

These are the international days currently observed by the United Nations.

The United Nations designates specific days, weeks, years and decades as occasions to mark particular events or topics in order to promote, through awareness and action, the objectives of the Organization. Usually, it is one or more Member States that propose these observances and the General Assembly establishes them with a resolution.

On occasion, these celebrations are declared by the specialized agencies of the United Nations, such as UNESCO, UNICEF, FAO, etc., when they concern issues that fall within the scope of their competencies. Some of them may be later adopted by the General Assembly.
